With heavy hearts we announce, Wayne Johnson of Edmonton passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 78 years.
Wayne will be dearly missed by his loving family, wife of 59 years, Joanne–semicolon– son Derek (Diane) Johnson, daughter Sharlene (Rob) Epton and daughter Debbie (Ron) Ible–semicolon– sisters Faye and Doyne (Rennie)–semicolon– grandchildren, Shannon (Jarratt), Kristiana, Sean (Karen), Christopher (Amy), Kristen (Clay) and Lynsey (Stephen). Wayne was blessed with great grandchildren–semicolon– Holly, Alyssa, Matthew, Maya, Maddox, Lauryn and Lana–semicolon– along with many extended family.
Wayne was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Assembly No. 5 and will be sadly missed by many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Elsie and Frank–semicolon– brother-in-law Haley.
Heartfelt thank you to Pulmonary Specialist, Dr. Justin Sebastian and all the staff on the Pulmonary Unit, 6 East at the RAH for their outstanding care and compassion.
A Prayer Service will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton.
Reverend Patrick Baska will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edmund Catholic Church, 13120 – 116 Street, Edmonton. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
