It is with profound sadness and sorrow, and deep love, that we mourn the sudden passing of Walter “Wally” Fedun of Edmonton, at the age of 77 years.
He will be deeply missed and always remembered by his son, Wayne (Jana) Fedun–semicolon– daughter, Monica Thomas–semicolon– grandchildren, Jana-Marie (Ben) Rye, Morgan, Reese and Haden Thomas and Alexandra and Jakob Fedun–semicolon– great-grandson, Henry Rye–semicolon– brothers, David and Robert Fedun–semicolon– sister, Grace (Bill) Krywulak–semicolon– and many other close friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Anne Fedun.
Wally grew up on a farm near Andrew, Alberta with his brothers and sister, and after graduating from the local high school he attended SAIT. He received an engineering degree and shortly thereafter was employed by Alberta Government Telephones (now Telus), working there until he retired nearly 40 years later. Shortly after being hired Wally settled in Vegreville, Alberta, where he started his family. Wally was an outstanding Dad and Grandfather, and his family meant the world to him. He was a man of strong principle, without passing judgment on others, and was always a source of quiet and caring wisdom, compassion and guidance.
Time with friends and family, and hearty laughs, were always in abundance. There was no such thing as a bad glass of wine. His interests included golf and hockey (playing in the earlier years and watching in the later ones).
A celebration of Wally’s life will be held Thursday February 14, 2019 at 2pm at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street NW, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Walter Fedun’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
