Our world has forever changed as we announce the loss of Vital Roy. Our husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, uncle, cousin and friend……While in good health he succumbed to an unforeseen heart attack and died in his loving wife’s arms….Her valiant efforts to resuscitate him in vain….He leaves behind a legacy of caring and thoughtfulness…A hardworking family man he was self-employed as a commercial roofer. Hyper and eager to get things done he was rarely still, he got the job done and always made time for family, friends and anyone in need. He gave money to strangers and friendship to the most unlikely bedfellows…never asked a thing in return. Family was always number one. He would do anything for any one of us and be glad to help…It would be a rare person that wasn’t touched by the genuine caring spirit that he possessed. He was the heart in the room, the light in a crowd…..Funny and sarcastic (clever)…Sadly no longer exclusively ‘ours’ to enjoy…He has joined in heaven, his father (Albert), Siblings (Alec, Darwin and Theresa) his youngest son Philip, Isaak and Abe Reddekopp…Left behind to miss him every minute, his wife: Agatha Roy, his dog(who gets everything) Teddy…His mother Elsie (Albert), Sister Norma (Mark), brother-in-law, George Arcand (Therese) His surviving children–semicolon– Lee Roy, Jennifer Anne Roy (Tony), Jennifer Laliberte (Gary), Amanda Laliberte, grandchildren, his great-grandson, countless nieces, nephews and cousins. Our world has shattered… In lieu of flowers we ask that you pay a kindness forward in his honour. Donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
His heart was just too big for this world…Ours is just completely broken …Service and prayers to be held Wednesday September 25 at Connelly-McKinley – St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Mass to be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m., St Albert Parish, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert–semicolon– graveside to follow. Refreshments and fellowship to be held in the church hall thereafter.
