1931 – 2023
Victoria Martiniuk, of Calgary, AB, went home to be with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, March 11, 2023, at the age of 91.
She was born May 20, 1931, to Michael and Dora Cholik (Tymchuk) in Edmonton, AB.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Firth; daughter-in-law Janice Martiniuk; grandchildren: David (Alys) Martiniuk , Ryan (Katie) Martiniuk, Kimberly (David) Thiessen, Maranda Martiniuk, Matthew Firth, Evan Firth; great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Rachel, Ian, Juan Andres, Alana, Oliver; sisters Ellen Gillin, Lucy Roddick; sister-in-law Florence Hardekopf; brother-in-law Victor Martiniuk.; and her many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
She is predeceased by her husband John (1999), sons Reginald (2003) and Dwayne (2013).
Though Victoria had many difficult trials during her life, her solid Faith in the Lord helped her to survive them. The last few years were especially challenging as she battled with Multiple Myeloma. As she went through all these incredibly hard times, she did so with a quiet strength, poise and grace. Her gentleness and kindness were witnessed by many, as a testament to how her leaning on God helped her remain thankful to His faithfulness to her in all circumstances. She was an incredible example of how trusting in Jesus doesn’t take away life’s trials, but how He will carry you through them.
The family would like to sincerely thank the compassionate and dedicated staff at Dulcina Hospice in Calgary, for the wonderful care that Victoria received.
A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held Monday, March 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert.
Interment will take place preceding the service at 12:30 p.m. at Beechmount Cemetery 12420- 104 Street, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make contributions in Victoria’s memory to the following charities that meant so much to her.

Condolences to the family on this day. I got to see photos of Mom
and Dad in the photo tribute. Seeing pictures of Grandma and
Grandpa’s farm also brought back great memories of growing up
surrounded by cousins, aunts and uncles. It was a great time to be
a kid. Thinking of everyone.
