It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Tori who died at her home in Calgary on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the age of 30 years. Vivacious, beautiful and brilliant, her sudden passing has devastated her husband, family and friends.
Tori is survived by her loving husband, Gordon–semicolon– parents, John and Barbara Oland–semicolon– older sister, Jennifer Oland Rempel (Jason)–semicolon– twin sister, Stephanie Oland–semicolon– brother, Nicholas Oland–semicolon– beloved niece, Sarah Oland and cherished nephews, David Oland and Aiden Rempel. She is also survived by her grandmother, Mary Oland Grannan (Jim)–semicolon– parents-in-law, AJ and Joan Fraser–semicolon– sister-in-law, Virginia Fraser (Russ Magee) and a large extended family and wide group of friends.
Born in Edmonton, she graduated from Strathcona Composite High School in 1999. In 2003, she graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in Criminology. She worked in an Edmonton Law Office until their 2008 move to Calgary, after which she started an immediately successful wedding and event planning business. She was an accomplished equestrian, having competed in show jumping events with her horses, Tandy and Legacy.
A Celebration of Tori’s Life will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
