Vernon Roy Williams passed away at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans on December 27, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Born April 16th, 1925 in Wetaskiwin, Vern was one of six siblings. Vern served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. He was the proud owner of Ritchie Esso Service Station from 1950 until his retirement in 1983. In retirement Vern enjoyed annual trips to the farm in Manitoba, fishing, and time with friends.
Vern was predeceased by his beloved wife Alice–semicolon– and his daughter Beverley. He will be lovingly remembered by his four children, Randy (Carol), Valerie (Dan), Kelvin (Sandee), and Shelley–semicolon– his grandchildren, Robert (Sasha), Claire (Jeff), Elizabeth (Trevor)–semicolon– and great-grandchildren, Reid and Brooks.
A private family service was held at South Haven Cemetery on January 2nd, 2016.
A Celebration of Vern’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Ritchie Community Centre, 7727 – 98 Street NW, Edmonton.
