Vern Henry Kroeker passed away surrounded by family on February 14, 2021.
He leaves behind his wife Marguerite, his son Reid (Lauren), his daughter Nicole (Jeff) and his two grandchildren Gage and Audrey.
To him, family was everything. To his family, Vern was loving, kind, and always a bright light. He enjoyed cars, golfing, and had recently taken up kayaking in the summer. His appreciation for all people made him a natural leader and role model. Although the last few years brought many struggles, Vern always maintained a positive outlook and found peace through an unbelievable strength in gratitude. His calming presence has touched many lives and will be forever missed.
Vern will be cremated with a private family gathering.

Marguerite and family we send our deepest sympathies as you mourn the loss of Vern. How we wish he could have been with us longer. It was always amazing and refreshing to experience his positive attitude in all these difficult circumstances- we recall the visit in the Edmonton hospital when he was recovering from the surgery.. He was a warm and kind person. Accomplished so much in his wsorking career. Our prayers are with you as a family- we share your hope of meeting again in the place God has prepared for us.

We were so saddened to hear of Vern’s passing. He was a gentleman, a great colleague and a great friend. We will miss his friendly smile, his laugh and his positive outlook on everything. Our condolences to Marguerite, Nicole and Reid and to their extended families.
One of my great memories of Vern was when we worked together on the 2004 Midget National Baseball Championships here in St. Albert. We were in charge of food services and we had such a blast planning that together for over a year and then serving all the baseball players from across Canada for an entire week down at the ball diamonds. It was a lot of fun and Vern and I shared many high fives that week because of how well things went. Vern was a champion of this event and I will always cherish working with him and the great memories of that week.
Rest in peace Vern.
