We are saddened to announce the passing of Una Maclean Evans on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by her son Bill–semicolon– daughters Margaret and Sarah (Wayne)–semicolon– sister Alene and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Arthur and sisters Freda, Marguerite and Elsie.
Una was born in Sunnynook, Alberta in 1926 and moved to Edmonton in 1962 where she served as City Alderman, broadcaster and Citizenship Court Judge. She was also the President of the Liberal Party of Canada in Alberta.
Una served in the army during WWll and later became a member of the Veteran’s Review and Appeal Board of Canada.
She leaves behind a rich legacy in her contribution to the City of Edmonton, Province of Alberta and the Country of Canada which she dearly loved.
The family would like to thank all of those who cared for Una over the years, in particular, The Kipnes Centre and University of Alberta Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2015 at The Royal Glenora Club, 11160 River Valley Road, Edmonton, AB T5J 2G7.
