It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Tom Publicover, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
Tom will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by his wife of 53 years, Lorraine–semicolon– daughters: Susan (Joe), Patty (Allan), and Jill (Ken)–semicolon– as well as his grandsons: Christopher, Daniel, Ian, Jackson, Matthew, and Oliver–semicolon– sister, June–semicolon– brother, Buz–semicolon– and three nieces–semicolon– along with numerous friends and relatives.
Tom was predeceased by his parents: Thomas and Anna–semicolon– sister, Doris–semicolon– and his beloved daughter, Pam.
Tom was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and joined the Airforce in 1958, where he met Lorraine–semicolon– and proposed after a whirlwind 2 week courtship. Above all, Tom was a devoted family man. Every Sunday, he would see all of his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandsons for dinner. Tom could be counted on to drop everything and rush to help anyone in need. He was also a “MacGyver” who could fix anything. All who knew Tom enjoyed his quick wit and feisty personality.
As per his wishes, a private celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date.
Memorial Donations may be made in Tom’s name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 10985-124 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta T5M 0H9 or Canadian Cancer Society Alberta / NWT Division, 200-325 Manning Road NW, Calgary, Alberta T2E 9Z9.
