It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Timothy Beechey announce his sudden passing on May 21, 2011 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton.
He is survived by his special friend and companion, Darlene Hasinoff–semicolon– her family, Maureen, Megan (fiance Nick) and Sean (Beverley)–semicolon– his sisters, Florence (Earl) Anderson and Diane (Robin) Erickson–semicolon– sister-in-law, Gisela (Dean) Hough–semicolon– step-brothers, Wayne (Melanie) Lautt and Ray (Lorri) Lautt–semicolon– numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Doug–semicolon– parents, Nell and Douglas and step-mother, Freida.
Tim was a beloved school teacher, an alumnus of the TUXIS Parliament of Alberta and the Chair of the Alumni Society, a member of the Edmonton Eskimos family, an active volunteer with the Special Olympics Canada, the Umpire Society of Edmonton and the Kilkenny Community League. He will be missed by hundreds of students, family members and friends who were blessed to bear witness to his caring and generous nature.
Tim was a graduate of the University of Alberta, spending 32 years as an elementary school teacher with Edmonton Public Schools. His contagious humour was felt by all his students and his knowledge was passed along to thousands of students.
A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 10037 – 84 Avenue, Edmonton with a reception to follow at the Kilkenny Hall, 14910 – 72 Street, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics Edmonton (Louise Suru Athletes’ Fund) or TUXIS Parliament of Alberta.
