On Friday October 26, at the age of 92, Ted passed away peacefully with family by his side, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by Avis, his beloved wife, and by his brother John. He is survived by his brother Robert Norman Rippon of Fort Saskatchewan.
Ted is remembered with great love and respect by his family: daughter, Sue–semicolon– sons, Bob (Patti) and Dave (Brenda)–semicolon– grandchildren, Adam (Melissa), Sydney, Jenna (Nicolas), Marc (Tammy), Caitlin (Jonathon), Meghan (Lockin), and Brent–semicolon– and great-grandchildren, Avis, Emma, Madeleine and Hayden.
Ted was a “likeable fellow” with gentle and charming ways that endeared him to everyone he met during his long life as a farm boy, pilot, land surveyor, Director of Land Titles, Alberta Planning Board member, farmer, retiree, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a compassionate person, with respect for all people and concern for wildlife and the land.
A memorial service for Ted will be held Thursday November 1 at 2:00 p.m., at St. Albert United Church, 20 Green Grove Drive, St. Albert, Alberta (780) 458-8355.
