On April 2, 2015, Thomas Niel Sutherland of Edmonton died unexpectedly while vacationing with his family in Fernie, British Columbia.
Tom will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Sandi–semicolon– four children, Ellen, Christopher, Sarah and Audrey–semicolon– brother, Ian (Nancy)–semicolon– sister, Sheila and nephew Cameron (Leigha)–semicolon– sister, Lorna (Rick) and niece, Christine–semicolon– father and mother-in-law, Antonio and Antonia Ranieri–semicolon– brother-in-law, Tom (Mary-Anne) Ranieri and his nephew, David and niece, Katie–semicolon– as well as numerous family and friends in his personal and professional life.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Kathleen Sutherland.
Tom was born in Edmonton on July 17, 1961. He attended the University of Manitoba (B. of Environmental Design) and Harvard University (Masters of Architecture). He practiced in Toronto and Edmonton, most recently a managing principal with DIALOG Design.
Tom was a devoted husband and father, as well as an outdoor sports enthusiast which included cycling, skiing and family travel.
Tom excelled at everything he did.
