It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Theresa (Therese) Louise Hergott (nee MacDonald) at the age of 81 years.
Therese will be missed as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She was an elegant and honourable woman who took great joy in her family and friends.
Therese is survived by her children, Glenn (Barb) Hergott (Aleksander), Neil (Dianne) Hergott (Braden, Carmen and Dana), Jill Hergott (John MacKay), Natasha, Chris–semicolon– siblings, Pat Hough, Dr. Fred MacDonald, Hugh MacDonald–semicolon– and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. Clifford Hergott in 1981 and her parents, Nellie and Giles MacDonald.
Therese graduated from the Edmonton General Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1951. She returned to nursing after being absent from the profession for 29 years, working at the Edmonton General Hospital until her retirement.
Family and Friends that wish to pay their respects may do so at a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 25, 2011, at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9830 – 148 Street, Edmonton. An interment of the urn is to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, 5300 – 106 Street, Edmonton.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff at the University Hospital Unit 4G4, Norwood Auxiliary Transition Unit, Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, Stroke Unit and St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital (Spruce Meadows and Palliative Care Units).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Edmonton General Hospital Nurses Alumni, Society of the Little Flower or a charity of one’s choice.
