Celebrating the Life of Theresa Elaine Berstad
October 2, 1949 – February 3, 2020
It is with profound sadness that the family of Theresa Elaine Berstad announce her peaceful passing on February 3, 2020, at the age of 70.
Theresa will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, Raymond Berstad; her only daughter, Lisa Berstad; her surviving brothers Dennis Lawrence Kennedy and Morris Andrew Kennedy.
Theresa will always be dearly missed by her friends that she has met during her life with O.L.P.H. Catering and the JETS group.
Now she rests in peace with her mother Velma Marie Loskot, her father Elgin Grant Farrel Kennedy, and her brothers Gary Grant Kennedy and Donald Vincent Kennedy in heaven. The family and relatives will hold dear the memories of Theresa Berstad.
Theresa had a passion for gardening and loved the outdoors. She always showed a humble personality who was ready to serve and help others first before herself. Her sense of creativity with baking scrumptious desserts will truly be missed. Theresa was a mother and wife who anyone would like to have. She is a kind, patient and forgiving person. Theresa Berstad always had a giving heart to the less fortunate.
February 14 is a fitting tribute to Theresa Berstad. As we know today is Valentine’s Day and the symbol for Valentine’s Day is a heart and/or love. Theresa was a person who constantly shows love towards others through kindness, being patient, forgiveness, understanding, is not proud, and always displays a positive personality. Since February is heart month, may we remember how she positivity impacted us each in our own way. As a way to keep the memories of Theresa Berstad and her spirit alive in each of us, may we continue to pass on acts of kindness through love like she has shown as an example to us.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Grey Nuns Hospital for their care, kindness and compassion. Thank you to the O.L.P.H staff and congregation for all your thoughtful prayers for Theresa Berstad and family during these past few weeks. Also, the family would like to thank all the friends and relatives who have shown support and kindness to the Berstad family. Your kind words and gestures will be instilled in our hearts forever. Thank You.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 13 Brower Drive, Sherwood Park, with a visitation taking place 1 hour prior to the service.
