
Love Family Dedication
With loving remembrance and saddened hearts, the family of Tekla Rakoz announces her passing at the Westlock Health Care Centre on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the age of 99 years, after a full and rewarding life.
Tekla was born to Stefan and Alexsandra Wasylykiw at Kamionki, Ukraine in 1921. Stefan came to Canada in 1926. Alexsandra, Tekla and her brother Steve, came in 1928. The family farmed at Daysland.
Tekla married George, July 10, 1945 and they farmed and raised their family in the Spring Lake area until 1966 when they moved to Edmonton. Tekla’s later years were spent in Westlock.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Bryan (Linda) Rakoz, Cheryl (Jerome) Zimmel; five grandchildren: Valerie, Tina, Bart (Danielle), Rilayna (Randy), Kyall (Jonathan); eleven great-grandchildren: Brandon (Roxanne), Madeline (Jesse), Jonah (Richelle), Emma, Isabelle, Moses, Bronwyn, Josef, Nadya, John, Sonya; three great-great grandsons: Isaac, Peter, Luke.
She was predeceased by George, her loving husband of 58 years, her son Robert, her great-grandson Marshall,
her parents Stefan (1899-1975) and Alexsandra (1900-1970) Wasylykiw, and her brother Steve (1922-1943), a Sergeant in the R.C.A.F.
The family would like to thank the medical team and staff that have helped Tekla through the years.
