It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the incredible loss of a loving husband, amazing father and gentle grandfather, Ted (Edward) Ciezki who left us too soon at the age of 63.
Ted was born in Sexsmith, AB, the second youngest of 8 children to proud parents Mike & Alice Ciezki. He spent his childhood years on the farm with his brothers John & Tom, school years playing & excelling at numerous sports. It was at a school dance where he met the love of his life Carrie, before moving to Vancouver, eloping to Hawaii and eventually settling down in Sherwood Park, AB to start a family. He worked up North for a year before getting into construction where he spent most of his life, working hard at whatever job he was at.
Ted’s greatest love was for his family–semicolon– he was happiest when everyone was together hosting family dinners every Sunday & other get-togethers, from curling bonspiels to the annual Horseshoe tournament. He loved spending time outdoors around the yard, travelling to the mountains and Maui beaches and really anywhere where there was water. He was a proud dad–semicolon– spent many years coaching football & track & there were countless road trips to cheer all of his kids on from soccer, to football to basketball. He loved his grandkids greatly & their favourite memories were of water fights, sleepovers & movies, ice cream and having grandpa there to cheer them on in any of their activities.
Ted will be greatly missed by his wife of 41 years, Carrie–semicolon– his children, Heidi & Cory, Chris & Laurie, Amy & Bob, Matt & Laura–semicolon– as well as his 8 grandchildren Brooke, Brady, Blake, Bodie, Natalya, Aurelia, Sophia & Alyse.
