Stephen Tamayo, age 33, passed away of a cardiac arrest after a long battle with leukaemia on May 5, 2018. He spent his last moments surrounded by family.
He was born in Calgary on November 4, 1984 to Edgar and Florida Tamayo. He attended Father Mercredi High School in Fort McMurray where he grew up with his brother, Luke, and sister, Hyacinthe. He was an avid athlete who excelled in swimming, track and field, football, and basketball.
After graduation, he moved to Edmonton in 2002 to pursue his education in business administration and began his career as an entrepreneur. He was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in 2008. He married Eva Angelica after he achieved his remission–semicolon– together they have four children. He co-founded several companies including a DJ company Sonic Ninjas, a private event space the Foundry Room, and a technology start up MynMax. Very much a people person, his businesses were always centered around providing the best customer product and experience. He spent much of his time playing sports with his friends and enjoying his young family. He was a mentor to his friends, a dependable shoulder to lean on, and the all time “party dad.”
He leaves behind a wife, Eva Angelica Tamayo, and four children: Lena Faith, Marcus Antonio, Noah Stephens, and Oliver Lucas.
