On Wednesday, June 19, 2013 Stanley Vogel passed away at the Edmonton General Hospital at the age of 54.
Stanley was born on July 12, 1958 at Consort, Alberta. He was the ninth child of Albert and Christina Vogel and raised on a farm north of Compeer, Alberta.
After leaving the farm, Stanley spent his younger years at Mitchner Center in Red Deer. He then lived in the Robin Hood Homes in Sherwood Park. His home for the last 21 years was the Edmonton General Hospital where he had many friends among the staff and residents.
Stanley was predeceased by his mother, Christina Vogel (Sept. 17, 2003)–semicolon– his father, Albert Vogel ( Feb. 18, 2005)–semicolon– and his older brother, Raymond (Dec. 12, 2010). He is survived by his brother, Aloys Vogel of Compeer–semicolon– sisters, Mary Vogel of Edmonton, Leona and Victor Wold of Leduc (children, Rhonda, Cheryl, and Dean), Doris and Dale Evans of Calgary (children, Karla, predeceased by son, Darren), Gladys and Brian Healy of New Sarepta (son Sean), Theresa and Blaine Kjorlien of Wetaskiwin (children, Ryan, Nolan, and Evan), Loretta and Ben Scheck of Provost (children, Benjamin, Matthew, and Michael)–semicolon– and numerous extended nieces and nephews.
Stanley will be missed for his cheerful nature, his grin, and his famous wink.
