Sonia passed away gently in Edmonton at the age of 86. She is dearly remembered by George, her loving husband of 43 years–semicolon– son, Jim Robertson (Joan)–semicolon– daughters, Bonnie Tarchuk (Ross Sherwin), Margie Stinton (Don), Barbara Jane Elias (Peter) and Bev Runka (Darrel)–semicolon– 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Sonia was born and lived in Edmonton. She worked as a Certified Nursing Aide at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. After retirement Sonia and George travelled, enjoyed their home in Holyrood, family & friends, gardening, the local Seniors Centre and worshipping at Grace United Church. In 2012 they moved into Laurel Heights Seniors Residence where they appreciated the warm and dedicated staff as well as their beautiful apartment.
Sonia had an indomitable determination to live her life well in spite of the many losses and challenges she faced. She was a proud and loving mother, wife and grandma. Sonia had many life-long friends who will also miss her.
