
In gratitude for her life of service, the Sisters of Providence announce that Sister Rosa Roshau, (Sr. Mary Jacintha), passed away at the age of 93 at Providence Centre Infirmary on November 25, 2014. Sister Rosa Roshau’s loss is mourned by the Sisters of Providence, the Providence Associates, her brothers Robert and Joe, her sister Clara (Ed) Lewis, her brother-in-law Pat Fennessy, as well as her aunt Betty Zentner. She was predeceased by her parents, Anna Zentner and Eugene Roshau, and two siblings, Whilhelmina and Magdelene.
Sister Rosa Roshau was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and entered the Sisters of Providence in 1951.
Some of her main ministries included: Dietary supervisor, parish ministry (Sacred Heart Parish in Edmonton), Operation Friendship, visiting Inner City seniors, and Anawim Food Bank. She truly enjoyed her work with the poor and needy.
The Sisters of Providence are most grateful for the loving care given to Sister Rosa Roshau by our nursing staff at Providence Centre Infirmary. In lieu of flowers, donations to the works of the Sisters of Providence are welcome.
Prayers will be held at Providence Centre chapel on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 6:30 p.m., and the Mass of Christian Burial, also at Providence Centre Chapel, 3005-119 St, Edmonton on Thursday, December 4, at 9:00 a.m. Father James (Jim) Holland, OMI will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Sisters’ Cemetery in Calgary, Alberta.
