My deepest sympathies to the families and the sisters, I had the greatest pleasure of working with sister at the Bonnyville Health Centre, she was my mentor in my eyes, she was an incredible woman with so much compassion and wisdom. It was a great loss here when she moved to Edmonton but it is a greater loss with her gone. She is with her lord and master and I hope she can rest easy with no pain. She will be dearly missed. We would like to say what a wonderful person Sister Mary Ellen was. We got to know her in the Saint-Thomas french catholic community.
She offered much support to the development of the Francophone community center known as La Cité francophone d’Edmonton.
What a great legacy she leave behind as an understanding, caring and loving person and a devoted leader to her congregation and religious order.
May she be rewarded in heaven for all the good that she did on earth.

John Kuzyk says
Dear Godmother Sister Mary Ellen,
Thank you for your spiritual guidance & support since you took on that commitment upon my birth in Vegreville in 1957. I have no doubt your path of service & dedication was well underway when you took your vows in 1960, and that path made this physical world a far better place for us all. Rest easy in the arms of our Lord, and know you are always in my heart.
With all my love I remain
Your Godson,
Francis John Kuzyk.
My prayers & condolences go out to all of Sister Mary Ellen’s family both earthly and spiritual as she joins Him in his heavenly domain.
John.

As with many others she was a mentor that I was privileged to work with and her spirit will remain with all who worked with her. I like to think that she is the spirit of the Bonnyville Health Centre as well, it brought that ambiance that everyone felt but no one could really describe.
