Grateful for her life of service, the Sisters of Providence announce that Sister Claire Demers passed away at the age of 93 at Providence Centre, Edmonton, on May 13, 2020. Sister Claire was born in Danville, Quebec in 1926 and entered the Sisters of Providence in 1944 in Montreal, Quebec. She served the people of Western Canada in various ministries and was known and loved for her gentleness. Sister Claire’s loss is mourned by the Sisters of Providence, her sister, Yolande Leblanc of Montreal, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Andresie and Albert Demers
and other siblings. The Sisters of Providence appreciate the loving care given to Sister Claire by the infirmary staff at Providence Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the works of the Sisters of Providence are welcome.
