With hearts full of treasured memories, the Grey Nuns announce the passing away of Sister Catherine Frohlich at Youville Auxiliary Hospital, St. Albert, on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the age of 98.
Sister Catherine was born in Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan on November 7, 1912. She joined the Grey Nuns where she served generously for 77 years, most of which was teaching aboriginal children. Her gentle disposition, quiet dignity and respect for others endeared her to those she met. She leaves to cherish her memory her Grey Nun Sisters–semicolon– her brother, William (June)–semicolon– sister-in-law, Olive–semicolon– nephews–semicolon– nieces and many others whose lives she has touched.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth–semicolon– her brothers, Adam, Anthony, Lawrence, Charles and Joseph–semicolon– and her sisters, Ann Mary, Margaret and Elizabeth.
The Grey Nuns thank the nursing staff of Youville Home for their dedicated and thoughtful care throughout Sister Catherine’s illness.
Father Dino Benedet, CSsR, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Youville Home Chapel, 9A St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert. Interment to follow at St. Albert Cemetery.
