On September 30, 2015, after a brief illness, Shirley passed away just 22 days short of her 80th birthday. Cherishing her memory is her husband of 55 years, Bill–semicolon– daughter, Jacqueline (Stan) Gervais–semicolon– granddaughters, Erin (Garry) Regnier and Carmen Gervais–semicolon– great-granddaughter, Ellie Regnier–semicolon– brother, Dr. Eldor (Marjorie) Thomas. Shirley is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Prior to marrying Bill, Shirley was an X-Ray Technician and a flight attendant with PWA. Shirley had a lifelong passion for the sport of curling playing at both a club and a competitive level. She loved to teach the game of curling and was a Curl Canada coach teaching junior programs in Edmonton and St. John’s, Newfoundland. Shirley enjoyed music (especially jazz), cooking and entertaining, as well as working in her garden. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and many friends.
A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club, 3500 – 119 Street, Edmonton.
