Shirley Gagnon passed away peacefully October 25, 2013, aged 81 years, suffering many years with heart and lung disease.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: son, Larry–semicolon– and daughters, Rachelle, Andrea and Jocelyn. Shirley also leaves grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephen, Lauren and Breann–semicolon– daughter-in-law, Andrea–semicolon– son-in-law, Harvey–semicolon– and sister, Maxine (Ed) Budinski. She will also be fondly remembered by many other relatives and friends. Shirley’s brother, Ken (Mira) Quesnel, of Red Deer passed away suddenly on October 26, 2013.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Joe in 2012–semicolon– and son-in-law, David Beaton.
Shirley was born in Edmonton in 1932. She took several business courses and worked as a book keeper at various organizations throughout her part-time career. Being an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for the past 42 years, she continued to attend functions until just recently, even as her health deteriorated. Shirley also enjoyed volunteer work with the Catholic Women’s League.
A service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held Friday, November 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Connelly – McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 St. Edmonton.
