On July 23, 2015, Shirley passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the University Hospital in Edmonton.
Shirley was born August 3, 1943 into the loving household of the late Florence and Reg Fox in Wetaskiwin, Alberta and was married to her adoring husband Jorn Brauer for 50 years. She raised a family in St Albert, taught chemistry at Paul Kane High School, and lived in harmony with nature at Pigeon Lake. Shirley travelled the world with an indomitable spirit, analytical and creative mind, and a steadfast and contagious resolve to value every precious moment and experience. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her husband Jorn–semicolon– two children Carmen Brauer (Paul Beaudry) of Calgary and Christopher Brauer (Jennifer Barth) of London, England. She was the proud Grandma/Nana of Benjamin and Anna Beaudry and Maxwell and Delilah Brauer.
Following cremation, a Memorial Service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at the St. Albert Botanic Park at 265 Sturgeon Rd on Thursday, August 13, 2015 with the service at 12pm in the rose garden followed by a reception on-site.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Research Society at
