It is with great sadness that the family of Shane McElhanney announce that he passed away, tragically, on August 15, 2016 at the age of 28 years.
Shane will be missed and lovingly remembered by his parents, Lynne Falconer and Bill–semicolon– brothers, Conor and Kerry–semicolon– girlfriend, Kalen McNair–semicolon– grandmothers, Betty Anne Falconer and Evelyn McElhanney and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and teammates.
Shane was a shepherd. A shepherd of people from all walks of life. Shane was a gatherer. A gatherer of the best qualities in all of us and bundling it into his awesome personality. He was caring, charismatic, funny, generous, kind and most of all, loving.
Shane loved all sports. He loved politics. He loved to debate. In a word, he loved people and they loved him back.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 9830 – 148 Street, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rugby Canada Suite 110,30 East Beaver Creek Road Richmond Hill Ontario L4B 1J2 in memory of Shane care of Edmonton Clansmen RFC.
