The family of Sam Gionet of Edmonton, Alberta is saddened to announce his passing on June 4, 2014, at the age of 72 after a long and courageous battle with bone and prostate cancer.
Sam is survived by his wife of 43 years, Edith–semicolon– son Paul of Edmonton–semicolon– daughter Michelle (Robbie) Skolarchuk of Edmonton–semicolon– grandchildren, Samuel Riley-Gionet, Ethan and Connor Skolarchuk–semicolon– four brothers of Caraquet, NB, Maurice (Germaine), Marcel (Gilberte), Gabriel (Marie), Jean-Guy–semicolon– five sisters, Hélène (Paul-Emil) Rouselle of Sheila, NB, Diane (Marcel) Haché of Yellowknife, Monique (Jean) Mourant of Caraquet, NB, Pauline Gionet of Gatineau, PQ, Paulette (Carol) Brassard of Gatineau, PQ, numerous family and friends.
Sam was predeceased by his parents, Alcide and Maria Gionet, sister-in-law Huberte Gionet as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Father Jim Holland will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Dominic Savio Parish, 14406 – 62 St. NW, Edmonton.
