It is with great sadness that the family of Sam Mon Chow announce his passing at the age of 81 years on March 13, 2015.
Sam was a hard-working, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He will be forever missed by his wife Quiny and four children: Cynthia (Dave), Campbell (Marie), Calvin and Wendy (Edward)–semicolon– as well as his six grandchildren, Natalie, Alex, Ethan, Riley, Sara and Nicklaus. He will also be remembered by his brother On (Din Hoi) Chow of Lethbridge and many extended family members.
Sam was born in Hoi Ping, Canton, China. Sam and Quiny immigrated to Canada in the early 60’s where they settled in Peace River, Alberta. Sam was in the restaurant industry establishing and co-owning
one of the first Chinese fine dining restaurants in Northern Alberta. Sam and Quiny retired to Edmonton in 1994 where they devoted t h e i r time t o t h e i r c h i l d r e n and grandchildren.
Visitation on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., where Funeral Services will also be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.
