Rudolf Heinrich Bruns passed away peacefully on April 7, 2021 in Edmonton, Alberta at age 93. He is remembered by Irma, his loving wife of 66 years; daughters, Christa (Jon) Pearkins, Ingrid (Bruce) Rankin; and grandchildren, Luke, Mark, and Mary Rankin, all of Edmonton. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Friedrich Bruns and his eight brothers and sisters.
Rudolf was born on February 9, 1928 in Westerholz, Germany, and immigrated to Canada in 1953. He was a carpenter who helped build houses in the Edmonton area as well as farming in the Ardrossan area until his retirement in the early 1990s.
Thank you to all his family for their help and support. Thank you to all the doctors and staff from the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Summerwood Retirement Residence, and Shepherd’s Care Vanguard Residence that cared for Rudolf in his last few months.
A private service will be held.
