1945 – 2020
The family of Ruben Aranas Aceron of Edmonton is saddened to announce his passing on November 15, 2020, at the age of 75 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Tessie; son Raymond; brother Rene (Ellen); sisters Levy (Moises), Arlene (Herminio), Joyce (Eric), Merle (Ferdie), and Neonette; grandchildren Nolan, Ryan, Max, Noah and Sophia. He will also be missed dearly by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Parminio and Juanita and his daughter, Susan (Jundee).
He was born in Pola, Philippines and immigrated to Canada in 1969 to Tisdale, SK where he met his wife. He eventually moved his family to Edmonton in 1973. Although educated as a teacher, he found his calling in the health care profession as an orthopedic technologist. He was such a caring person and loved working with patients. Ruben was well respected and admired by his colleagues at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. He was especially known for his calm and joking demeanor. He served the Filipino community well and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Nazareno Council 12904 since 2006. In his spare time, he was very social and enjoyed a good beer with friends. One of his favourite pastimes was enjoying the thrill and excitement of thoroughbred racing.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on November 20, 2020. However due to COVID restrictions, it will be kept to close family. The Mass will be livestreamed and can be accessed by emailing email@example.com for the link. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
