
On July 15, 2020, Roy passed away at Lamont Hospital following a short stay there. Roy was born on December 6, 1918 in Lamont Hospital. He is predeceased by his wife, Eileen Reinhardt, and his daughter Darlene Royce Reinhardt.
Roy is surveyed by his two daughters, Sharon (Barry) Trudgeon and Marilyn (Russell) Lee; son Barry Reinhardt; six grandchildren, Ken (Petra) Trudgeon, Mark Reinhardt, Cindy Reinhardt, Terry (Brandy) Lee, Carlyn (Curtis) Byrne and Vincent Trudgeon; three great-grandchildren, Britney Reinhardt, Taylor and Mason Byrne; brother-in-law Gordon (Laverne) Thor and many nieces and nephews.
Roy was 21 years old when he joined the Army in April of 1941. He was discharged from the Army in January of 1946. On April 25, 1946 Roy, Eileen and their daughter, Darleen, bought and moved to the property where his house still stands. He started farming and continued farming until he moved to Beaverhill Pioneer Lodge in 2017 at the age of 98 years.
Roy was always available to help neighbors with veterinary duties during calving season. Roy was a lifetime member of the Legion. He loved his horses and volunteered at Ukraine Village with his team for about 18 years. He worked at Elk Island National Park for many years along with his farming.
Roy loved to visit, and he loved to see his family. He will be sadly missed by many.
