
On May 3, 2022, Rose passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: John (Jackie) Kirk and Susan (Ken)Dufva; grandchildren: Keith Kirk, Blake Kirk (Amber), Nikki (Aaron) Coverly and Char Dufva (Kayla); one great grandson, Carson; siblings: Steve (Alice) Onyshko, Mary (Brian) Petovello and Sophie (Stan) Holzman; as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1996 and daughter Cathy Hood in 1998; her father Steve in 1993, mother Thecla in 1995 and brothers Peter in 2005, and John in 1935.
Rose grew up on her family farm near Glendon, attended Gifford School, and then finished high school in Glendon. She moved to Edmonton and received her nursing diploma. Rose and Jack were married in 1960. She left nursing to raise her three children with Jack in the south side of Edmonton while part of the Assumption Parish. Rose was a resident of Summerwood in Sherwood Park then Youville in St. Albert where she passed away. The family is grateful to both facilities for the care Rose received.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 75 Poirier Avenue, St. Albert.

So sorry to hear of your loss. She was always there to greet us when our gang was there to pick up Cathy. Always a warm welcome & great conversation – she loved her kids so much. We all enjoyed these visits with your kind mother. The only good of this is that she will now be in heaven with Cathy & her amazing husband. God bless your family & I will be praying for all of you.
