Philomena was a valuable member of TUAA Chorus prior to 1990 because she was always focus on whatever she set her mind on, positive and helpful to other members, considerate; always put others needs before hers. She’s reliable, confident in herself and always got a sunshine smile on her face no matter what. Rest in the Lord Jesus, no more pain and suffering my friend.

I first met my dear friend Philomena Chan, or Mrs. Chan as we all called her, more than 20 years ago at the Taiwan University Alumni Association Chorus, helpful and kind-hearted woman. Although she was 31 years older than me, we have never had much of a generation gap-we both enjoyed singing, painting, and watching TV series together, I admired her exquisite vision and taste-when it comes to choosing clothes, jewellery and other items, she always had a unique style. Mrs. Chan has lived in Edmonton for more than 50 years, and is well respected and beloved by everyone. I am deeply proud to have been her friend and I often think of times I spent with her and the happy memories we had! I am also grateful that she treated me and my family as one of her own. My family and I love and miss her very much and we hope that she is now resting in peace in heaven.

I want to thank everyone for there condolences. It’s nice to know that my grandma made so many great connections throughout her lifetime, as well as having a positive impact on so many people.
I want to send a special thank you to my Uncle Ken Hall, who spend so much time and energy improving the life of my grandma. He funded a trip to Alaska, so that all of her children and grandchildren, could enjoy a trip all together with her. He did an amazing job taking care of her and his attentiveness was so appreciated by my grandma.
Thank you Uncle Ken, for being such a great support to my Grandma. We’re really lucky that you are part of our family.
