With family at her side, Philippa Pullar passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2019. Phil was born and raised in Calgary, AB. Her sense of adventure yielded many exciting experiences throughout her life. From a very early age she had a passion for travelling, be it via CPR trains as a child, on road trips with girlfriends as a young adult, or seeing the world with Bob on cruise ships and riverboats. She loved to recount her experiences as a young adult living in Oshawa, Ontario and London, England working as a radiology technician. Phil was creative and had an artistic flair; she enjoyed visual and performing arts, sang in the choir at St. Stephen’s Church, and delighted in creating her own culinary masterpieces and needlecraft treasures.
Phil’s greatest love was her family. She cherished the years with her beloved late husband Bob, and they were very proud of their children and grandchildren. Family gatherings at the cottage generated many fond memories. She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter and son-in-law Karen (John) Brown, her devoted son and daughter-in-law David (Brenda) Pullar, and her adoring grandchildren Carley, Leah, Elise and Andrew.
The family is appreciative of the care and support Phil received from many compassionate people and caregivers at Groves of Varsity, Citadel Care Centre, and Your Good Company companions in recent years as dementia progressed and her health declined.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Calgary Golf & Country Club, 5900 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Phil’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories at www.alzheimer.ca.
