Pave Cokaric

With heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce that on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, Mr. Pave Cokaric of Edmonton, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him.

He is lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Marija–semicolon– daughter, Milena–semicolon– and his cherished granddaughter, Melissa. We will always be grateful for his endless devotion to his family and for his many years of love and dedication to ensure our happiness and wellbeing. Our loss is truly immeasurable.

Pave was born on the Dalmatian coast in Stobrec, Croatia. He immigrated to Canada in 1957. He leaves behind to mourn his loss his sisters, Ana (Zvonko) Aljinovic and Milena Cokaric in Croatia–semicolon– brother-in-law, Josip (Katica) Mogus, in Australia–semicolon– sister-in-law, Roza Zivcic, in Croatia–semicolon– and many nieces and nephews and their families in Croatia, Australia, and Ontario, Canada. Pave was predeceased by his parents, Mirko and Marica Cokaric–semicolon– father and mother-in-law, Mijo and Kata Mogus–semicolon– brother, Zdenko–semicolon– and sister, Olga.

Pave was a devout Catholic who valued his ties to family and community. A prayer service will be held at Connelly McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Franjo Visaticki will take place at Nativity of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, 10560 – 98 Street, on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 10:00 am, with Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton, AB.
