It is with profound sadness and the deepest sense of loss that we announce the passing of Patricia “Peggy” Herlick on Monday, March 14, 2016, at the age of 67 years. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed with her family by her side.
Peggy will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband of 43 years, Ronald–semicolon– children: Michael (Courtney), Kristen (Matthew) Bachewich and Suzanne (Jordan) Sevigny–semicolon– grandchild: Quinn–semicolon– brothers: Brian (Shirley) Nord, Terry (Wanda) Nord and Morris (Fiona) Nord–semicolon– as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Knute and Anna Nord.
Peggy displayed an extraordinary devotion to teaching over her 42 year career. She spent 37 years within the Greater St. Albert Catholic School Board, with the majority of that time as a dedicated member of the Albert Lacombe Elementary School family. Her passion was Elementary Special Education, which gave her the opportunity to work with smaller groups of children with diverse learning challenges. She took great pride in seeing her students become active members of the community and received a number of teaching honors and awards for her service.
Peggy was a loving, gentle soul who nurtured and loved her children dearly and greatly valued family. Peggy loved to spend time gardening, traveling, cooking, reading and cherished Sunday family dinners and Scrabble games with her late mother, Anna. In retirement, Peggy was able to spend more time bestowing much love on her granddaughter and her 3 grandpuppies. She kept close contact with family, friends and past work colleagues. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at North Pointe Community Church, 14025 167 Avenue NW, Edmonton. A reception will follow at 4:00 pm at the St. Albert Inn and Suites, 156 St. Albert Trail, St. Albert.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Patricia’s name to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta.

I had the privilege of teaching with Pat at Albert Lacombe a few years ago. What a great loss for our teaching community but especially your family. When Pat spoke about her family she fairly glowed. She was a wonderful colleague and a strong educational leader. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
