I was always very fond of my Uncle Oscar. He lived his life in the best way possible, always conscious that to be a good Catholic, you needed to work hard at being a good person. He served his community and his church throughout his life. His generous nature is reflected in his beautiful family.

Dear Carol, Wayne, Lorne, Mary-Lou and your families,
It was with sadness that I learned of your father’s passing. Attaining 103 years old is quite an accomplishment! Your father Oscar Hittinger walked through life with such faith and courage. No doubt you are all thankful for the quality of father he was for each of you and for each of your families.
Now he rests in the Lord.
Uncle Oscar was always such a warm, thoughtful and generous person. As a child, I recall our many visits to your home, the warm welcome, the singing, the music and the occasions for us cousins to play to our hearts content. As an adult, whenever we were in Edmonton and had occasion to visit with him, we were assured of a warm welcome and pleasant chat. Such visits were enhanced by his particular voice which resembled so much that of my father.
Please accept our condolences. We keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
Claude and Gloria Baril
