Hello Garth, I remember visiting the Space Science Centre with you and Michelle and Austin and also being invited over to meet Emmet when he was born. I remember Michelle’s paintings on the wall. I remember you two telling us the beautiful story of how you met. I can’t believe she’s gone so soon. I wish we had more time together.

Dear Garth we have been so blessed to know your family and have you and Michelle and the boys in our lives. Abby just loves your boys to pieces. We are so thankful for the times your family was there for us through Callas heart surgery. Michelle’s friendship was irreplaceable she was so funny and unique and go above and beyond for her friends. We send our prayers and our biggest hugs and strength to you and your boys and family.

I met Michelle when I moved into the room next to hers in staff residence at Lake Louise. She was young and cool and vibrant, and had the biggest stereo I’d ever seen. To my great relief, she had the same taste in music as me, so that stereo turned out to be a good thing.
We had the same days off, so we often rode together. I’m remembering the good times today, all those years ago: listening to music, laughing and doing donuts in her little yellow truck in the empty snow-covered ski hill parking lot, always taking her favourite secret route down the front side of Louise at the end of the day (and no, I’m not going to tell you where the entrance is, because then it’ll get all tracked up!) Michelle was one of a kind, a truly special person, a friend to everyone, and I know her loss is felt deeply by the many people who were privileged to know her throughout her life. My sincerest condolences go out to her family at this incredibly sad time.
