Dear Candice, being a tough firefighter for 31 years,I had never cried in any occasion except when my dad died 42 year ago. Now is the 2nd time in memory of you. Every time when I close my eyes, I see your smiles and sunny face. Although we were not really close in real life, I always feel so. I will miss you for the rest of my life till then we shall meet in heaven. May God take care of this beautiful soul. Candice, you live in the heart of all who know you and love you.

I am very shocked and devasated by the tragic way Mercedes was taken from your family. Everyone will be saying sorry for your loss but I know you didn’t lose Mercedes but was taken from you to young because all you need to find her is in her heart and memories. It seems that many people we knew together had told me that they had been thinking of Mercedes and rememberin g a moment with her in the last few weeks. My brother say her 3 days before but didn’t get a chance to tell me. My cousin, who went to college at the same time said Mercedes popped into her head a couple of days ago. I have heard from another couple of people who went to college with us and they to mentioned they had in recent weeks were remembering or thinging of Mercedes. I have no word to say that you have not already heard from everyone but I think the only thing I could say is she was lucky as were you to family and have that bond that only family has. RIP Merecedes.

I worked with Mercedes at the Glenrose for many years. The picture you have selected exactly potrays Mercedes, a beautiful smile and a kind disposition. Always ready to help and if she could not solve your dilemma she was able to direct you to an answer.
Your loss is shared by those if us that had the pleasure of working at the Glenrose.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I went to St.Thomas More junior High and St. Francis Xavier High School with Mercedes and considered her a very close friend. We reconnected as adults and even worked together. I will miss her deeply.

Mercedes was my wife’s best friend and over the years I grew to love her very much as her love for us both grew. She was a true friend and put her feelings aside to help those she loved. I will never forget her and hold her dearly in my heart always. She was a dear dear friend and will be sorely missed. I hold dearly the fact that I knew her and will await the day we can meet again in heaven. Love ya like a sister Mercedes!
