Mel was a caring and gentle man who was loved by all who knew him. Generous and thoughtful, he always put family and friends before himself. The love of his life, Emily was always at his side and together they provided a beautiful example of marriage and commitment to all who knew them. He was a man of many facets – he worked full time with the County of Strathcona Fire Department, Entrepreneur (Seutter Aquariums with his brother Wilfred and their wives), Manager at Rolf C. Hagans, member of the Wild Rose Antique and Bottle Club, gardener and avid collector of antiques. He was always fascinated with history and the tools that spanned his lifetime. He loved meeting new people and made friends wherever he went.
