It is with great sadness that the family of Maurice Paul Vincent announces his passing at the age of 54 years due to a motor vehicle accident on December 21, 2019. Maurice will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 25 years, Michèle and his children, Jacques, Véronique and Olivia.
Maurice graduated as a civil engineer from the University of Alberta and went on to specialize in information technology. He spent his working life in those fields.
At the time of his death he was an employee of Firma Foreign Exchange. Maurice grew up in Edmonton and was proud of his French-Canadian heritage which was passed on to his children. Throughout Maurice’s life, he contributed many volunteer hours to the church and community. Amongst the many volunteer projects he was involved in, the installation of murals depicting the Indigenous and French-Canadian pioneer history in the Grandin LRT station was a source of great pride for him. He was a very devoted husband and father who loved to coach and cheer for the children’s various sports teams. A favorite pastime was playing his weekly shinny hockey with his buddies. He loved music, crossword puzzles, working on his 1961 Studebaker Hawk and spending time with family and friends at Moose Lake.
Maurice is survived by many friends and relatives including his parents, Georges and Huguette Vincent; his brothers, Denis (Monique) and Pierre (Sheila); parents-in-law, Eveline and Robert Kruchten; brother-in-law, Mike (Andrea); sisters-in-law, Selina (Anil), Rachel (John) and Angela (Jordan); and 18 nephews and nieces.
Reverend Jean Claude Ndanga, CFIC will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Maurice at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at St-Thomas d’Aquin Catholic Church, 8410-89 Street, Edmonton.
Cremation has taken place and the interment will be in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a donation, please donate to the PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) Foundation.

I am so very sorry to hear of Maurice’s passing. I have many fond memories of Maurice that I will cherish forever. Although it had been two years since I saw him last, it had always been hard not to smile when he was around. I’ll miss him!

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Maurice, my old friend from JH Picard days. It has been too many years, but I have fond memories of Maurice’s quirky humour and academic brilliance. Our other friends Bruce Macnab, Paul Szaszkiewicz, Tom Laviolette, and Pierre Lorieau were equally shocked and saddened. Thoughts and prayers are with your extended families – also passed on from my sisters Joannie and Helen.

Michele, Jacques, Veronique & Olivia: May the love and prayers of friends and family, including ours, find you and bring some small graces at this time.
We fondly remember Maurice as a dedicated and reliable participant at summer family gatherings no matter the distance – as I’m sure many others do. Please know that you remain in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathies.
