With great sadness we announce the passing of Maurice “Moe” Edwin Wolff on April 12, 2020 at the age of 85 years, following a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Moe leaves behind his wife, Sylvia of St. Albert; daughter, Kim (Alex) of Abbotsford, BC; son, Kevin (Tirzah) of Stony Plain and daughter, Rosemary of St. Albert; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also left behind are his two ‘puppy girls’, Mary Jane and Sassy, who will miss their walks with him.
Moe had a long and rewarding career with the RCMP, retiring from K Division in 1994. Not one to sit idle, he returned as a Peace Officer to assist with the implementation of the National DNA Databank. Moe enjoyed his time as Aide de Camp to Alberta Lieutenant Governors Lois Hole and Norman Kwong.
To his St. Albert neighbours, Moe was known as the “the man with the green thumb”. Passers-by would often stop to take pictures of his garden and it served as a backdrop for wedding pictures. For many years Moe was an active member of St. Albert Parish as an usher and frequent volunteer at fundraising events.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Donations be made to Sign of Hope, 12431 Stony Plain Road NW, Edmonton, AB, T5N 3N3 -https://signofhope.cssalberta.ca/ or a charity of one’s choice be made in Moe’s name.
No service by request.

MOE WOLFF
“Our dear neighbor, Moe Wolff, is a retired RCMP Officer. We’ve been neighbors with them since 2001 and he had shown us his friendliness, kindness, and humility from the very start. He’s always been nice and helpful to everyone in our crescent. He would run his snow blower in our sidewalks whenever there’s a snow storm, offer us help when we ask him, or when he sees us needing assistance. Most of all, he’s fun and very interesting to talk to and almost like a father figure to me. I’m so grateful to have Moe and his wife Sylvia in our neighborhood and feel so blessed to have met them in my lifetime.”

My sincere and deepest sympathies go out to you for your untimely loss of Moe. I had the honour of knowing Moe for 30 years both as a RCMP colleague and as a friend. He was an Inspirational Leader who dreamed big and was not afraid to blaze a trail where others feared to travel. He was a doer and had the vision and uncanny instincts to do what was best for both his subordinates as well as the RCMP Forensic Program. Knowing Moe I’m certain that the indelible legacy he left in his professional career pales in comparison to the love and caring he had for his family. He was a great man who will be missed…..RIP Moe!

So very sad to learn of Moe’s passing. I was privileged to know him through work, and caught up with him by chance two or three times in the years following his retirement. He wore his uniform with such pride, had a huge heart, and cared about everyone he met. My very deepest condolences to his family – he spoke of you often. Rest in peace, kind Moe.

I am heart broken to hear of the loss of such a kind gentleman that Moe was . Both my husband and I worked in the force and ran into him many times as well we resided for years in St Albert. If we were not laughing at his jokes or listening to his advice or wise police stories , Mo and I were exchanging gardening ideas… He was a wise wonderful man and will be dearly missed by all that knew him and loved him. My kindest regards to his dear friends and family,, Best to you all , from Margaret Steacy & Scott Dawson.
