Maureen was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and her family is extremely proud of all she accomplished. As a young woman, Maureen completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Alberta in 1936. This was followed by a long and distinguished career in administration in the Office of the Registrar and for the General Faculty Council at the University. Maureen and Dan married in 1962 and they had many wonderful years together. Maureen will always be fondly remembered as a loving wife, and aunt and friend. Her great sense of style, wry wit, passion for knowledge and her love of a spirited debate will be sorely missed.
Aunt Maureen shared a special relationship with Neil, Leanne and Andrea who so lovingly supported and cared for her for many years. A special thank you to Rod Banks who was a true friend in every sense of the word. The family also wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Gustall and the staff of 8Yat the General Continuing Care Centre who cared for Maureen in a respectful and kind manner that allowed her to live her last year in a safe and caring environment.
Reverend Vic Perron will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 12810 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.
