I am so sad to hear the news about your Mom, Aimee. She was one of the important mentors to me in my career. I learned so many things about early literacy from her and she was always willing to come out to my classroom. She was one of the kindest people I knew and I feel she was taken too soon. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Isabella & Matthew Pierce says
Our son’s first love was “Mrs. Hill”. Back in 1990 Matthew had the honor of having her for his kindergarten teacher. I don’t know when or how but a special bond formed between them and he gave her a picture of him in a small frame and she in turn gave him one of her. She told him to keep it in his room and she would do the same. Well he still has that picture and when I told him of “Mrs. Hill’s” passing he was so sad. He said she was someone he always wanted to do well for. When he graduated from Austin O’Brien in 2003 he asked “Mrs. Hill” to attend his commencement ceremony and of course she came. Another photo was taken and exchanged and he still has that one as well.
Working with ECS I had the opportunity to run into Maureen at our school opening mass, faith development day and a few other occasions. Maureen always asked about Matthew. She was a gentle, kind and caring lady who loved her students and genuinely cared for them. No matter how much time passed she was someone who remembered all the details.
We want to extend our sympathy to the family and pray that her love and warm embrace will comfort you on the days ahead that seem hard. She was an angel here on earth and now we are blessed to have her watching over all of us.
So many people enter our lives but few make a permanent imprint on our hearts. Thank you “Mrs. Hill”. You will be missed.
