Mary Mallon and I were friends for over sixty-one years. We were both involved in the work of the Catholic Church. We both entered a religious order in 1950,and remained close friends always.Mary was a warm and loving person;gifted with outstanding qualities of mind and heart. She did a tremendous amount of good in her life[more than most could ever believe].I shall always miss her and shall always wish that I can display the same amount of\” metal\” Mary did in the face of adversity and misunderstanding. She leaves numerous friends and acquaintances saddened by her loss.I shall not forget her.

To Mary.s family, I send my most heartfelt sympathy..I had a phone call rom Regina as she read the notice in the B.C. Catholic. We were both shocked as I had a letter a few months back giving me her address and ph.no. at the hospital.
We have been corresponding for many years. We had planned last year to get together in Vancouver but due to family emergency she did not come..I am sorry but do not know the familys address to send a Mass card but I will have some masses said at the shrine of St.Theresa ,in Ont.

We were very sorry to read the sad news about Mary. Please accept our sincere condolences.
On rare occasions we had received a letter from Mary, and it came as quite a surprise to see that she had sent us a letter just 5 days before she died. We had fond memories from years ago. one in particular of when she was visiting us. There were three or four people here also, and we all had a great time singing along with the music of the piano, a fiddle, an accordian, & even one man who played the saw. We sang. we laughed, & all of us, including Mary had a most memorable evening.
When we shared the news of Mary\’s passing with a couple who had been here for that \”party\” (which was quite a few years ago), they still remembered the occasion with great laughter.
We also remember your mother, & how much she enjoyed the Sunday we took her for a drive in the country.
Not to be forgotten of course is your brother Peter, who we always held in the highest regard.
This morning we had a Mass said for the happy repose of Mary\”s soul.
We hope you don\’t mind us sharing what to us was a very happy memory.
Good-bye & God bless,
Roger & Gert Marquis
