It is with great sadness that the family of Marlene Rochelle Vlahadamis (nee Molyneaux), of Edmonton Ab., announce her passing on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, she died peacefully and in comfort.
Marlene will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Frank; Son, Dino & Daughter in Law, Ann; Grandchildren, Kelsey, Samuel, Jonathan and numerous other family members and friends.
Marlene was predeceased her parents, Harry and Elda, her Daughter Kathy and Grandson Zachary, and her Sister Linda.
Marlene moved to Kitimat, BC right after graduation from UBC in 1960, where she met and married Frank and spent many happy years raising her family and teaching. In the ‘80’s Marlene and Frank moved to Nanaimo, BC, and then on to Chilliwack BC in the ‘90’s where Marlene took great pleasure in helping run the United Church’s Charity Thrift shop. In 2016, Marlene and Frank made the move to Edmonton Ab. to be closer to family. Marlene spent her last years enjoying the company of her family and her many friends at Sierra on the Lakes.
Marlene loved to read and do puzzles- always a novel or puzzle book close by. She enjoyed games, cards and scrabble in particular. There are many friends and family who have walked away licking their wounds after a Scrabble run in with Marlene. She was also an accomplished baker and we will miss her butter tarts, and baking care packages. Marlene enjoyed spending time with family and friends and we will miss her infectious sense of humour and sparkling conversation.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Connellv-McKinley Funeral Home 10011 – 114 Street Edmonton, AB T5K 1R5.
