With heavy hearts full of treasured memories, we announce the passing of Marie-Jeanne at the age of 99 years and 3 months.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Marcelle, son-in-law Luke Trybuch–semicolon– grandsons, Dean (Corinne) of Edmonton, and Dale (Brenda) and great-grandsons, Joshua and Noah all from Calgary–semicolon– sisters-in-law, Sr. Antoinette Cyre and Evelyn Cyre, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Also left to mourn her loss is her loving and devoted companion, Judith Richardson, who spent countless hours caring for and assisting Mom the past two years.
Marie-Jeanne was the last member of the Bourbonnais family who pioneered in Riviere Que Barre. After her marriage to Hilaire Cyre in 1938, they farmed in various communities including Riviere Que Barre, Josephburg, and Vimy. After Hilaire’s accidental death in 1963 she moved to Edmonton and it was then that her love of fashion took her to Holt Renfrew, where she enjoyed more than 20 years as a sales associate in sportswear. Her love of travel took her far and wide, throughout the world both land and sea. Later she fell in love with Arizona and spent 20 winters enjoying the fun and sun at Mesa Spirit Resort. For the past five years she resided at Churchill Retirement Community and enjoyed the friendship of the residents and staff. The family wishes to thank all the Churchill staff for their compassion and dedication in caring for Mom, making her stay most pleasant, as well as her physician, Dr. William Campbell.
