It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mum, Lois Harms, of Edmonton, Alberta, on October 1st. Lois was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie and sister.
She will be forever loved and missed by her family; son Michael Harms, daughter Sandy Clark; grandchildren Matthew (Nikki) Harms, Erin (Oliver) Foster, Sean (Ilse) Harms, Cameron Meredith; great grandson Hayden Harms. Lois was predeceased by her husband John, her son John and her daughter Rhonda Meredith.
Lois was proud of being born and raised in Edmonton and had countless fascinating stories of growing up here during the Depression, WW II, and the polio quarantine in the late 1040s.
A passion for gardening was just one facet of Mum’s life. She volunteered at the Royal Alex and the Misericordia Hospitals for years, eventually becoming President of the Misericordia Hospital Volunteer Association. Lois and her husband John enjoyed playing Bridge with their friends, travelling, and socializing with friends and their extended families. Lois always kept herself busy and enjoyed knitting, jigsaw and crossword puzzles while she avidly watched sports on TV.
As devastated as Mike and Sandy are, they have peace knowing their beautiful, vibrant Mum is together again with her husband and love of her life, her first child and her first daughter. May God bless them and keep them near to His heart.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 10132-163 Street NW, Edmonton.
