Lenore passed away peacefully on August 26, 2015.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Tom–semicolon– children, Steve (Jan), Rob (Carol), Joan, Sue (Dean)–semicolon– grandchildren, Geoff, Andrea (Colin), Tom, Lori, Aaron (Sanae), Christina, Rhys (Natalie), Josh, Ben, Jesse, and David. Lenore is also survived by her sisters, Ruth (Frank) and Norrine (Don).
She was predeceased by her sister, Barb (Ken)–semicolon– and parents, Norris and Leona.
Lenore grew up in Lindsay, Ontario and graduated with a BA in Mathematics and Physics from McMaster University in 1950. Married in 1952, Lenore and Tom moved out west and eventually made their home in Edmonton where they raised their four children. Lenore was instrumental in running Chambers Engineering Ltd., especially during the years Tom was with the Alberta government as MLA and cabinet minister. Lenore excelled at hosting large family gatherings and delighted in the stories and accomplishments of all of her eleven grandchildren.
She enjoyed knitting, reading, and gardening. She enjoyed watching curling, cheering on team Alberta, and liked to challenge herself with crossword puzzles.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Touchmark and Dr. Stan Kroeker for their excellent care.
There will be a Memorial Service held in the Marquis room at Touchmark at Wedgewood, 18333 Lessard Road, Edmonton, on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
